MENDEZ MONUMENT SAVES FOR NEXT GENERATION

The existence of Philippine Presidential Decree Nos. 260 and 374 amending Republic Act No. 4846, the country's Cultural Properties Act brought classification of historic sites and structures categorized one of Tubod Local Monument. It is an objects, natural features or areas of special historic interest that sets aside by Tubod local government as public property. Historically, the site where Mr. Mendez statue installed on 1989 identified by previous Tubod Leaders prestigiously recognized by Late Municipal Mayor Alfredo Espina Macula spearheaded the motion of Former SB Member Sergio Acero Labadan living witness for Mendez historical statue bring pride of this town. 

Hence, the call for next generation protecting Tubod historic statue and monument is great. It incorporates in Tubod Cultural Treasure and Heritage. A thing with unique sites or objects found locally possessing outstanding cultural, artistic and/or scientific value that is highly significant and important to Tubod. We think so that one of the most valued monuments ever existed in Tubod is of MENDEZ being the sole donor of Tubod Municipal Lot. In supplication with this manuscript, Mendez full-bodied statue signify value and must be preserve. 

Mendez Monument is great landmark of Tubod. It is historic Local hero for his exemplary deed and contributions to the building of our town of Tubod. Great Mendez memorial gives inspiration for youn ones. He sacrificed his personal real property for establishing Tubod now materializes. Therefore, Mendez memorial monument must be treated sacred or hallowed objects and accorded with the same full reverence as we have for the Philippine Flag. Philippine Law shall not allow any form of desecration against monuments, such as squatting, graffiti and advertising commercialism.

 Moreover, the Constitution of the Philippines, Article IV on Arts and Culture, Section 16 states: All the country's artistic and historic wealth constitutes the cultural treasure of the nation and shall be under the protection of the State, which may regulate its disposition. However, Mr. Mendez memorial monument has its supporting SB Resolution series on 1989 makes up legitimate.

 Finally, the Philippine law says no monument/memorial to living persons shall be allowed. The statues of living persons may be produced and funded by private entities in the form of award for excellence and great achievements, or for hall of fame type recognition. However, such statues are not allowed to be erected or installed outdoors, which could be mistaken for a memorial.

DEED OF ABSOLUTE DONATION EXECUTED BY TUBOD FOUNDING HERO AGUSTIN GANOT MENDEZ favors "THE BARRIO OF TUBOD"

DEED OF ABSOLUTE DONATION... This DEED OF ABSOLUTE DONATION, made and executed by AGUSTIN MENDEZ, of legal age, married, and a resident of Barangay Tubod, Mainit, Surigao, Philippines, herein after called the #DONOR, in favor of "THE BARRIO OF TUBOD" of Mainit, Surigao, herein after called #DONEE. That the DONOR is the real owner in fee simple of that parcel of land with buildings and improvementstherein situated in Tubod, Mainit, Surigao, Philippines covered Tax Declaration No. 1335. That for and in consideration of the LOVE and AFFECTION which the DONOR has for the DONEE. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the DONOR and DONEE have hereunto signed this DEED OF ABSOLUTE DONATION this 9th day of July, 1957 in the Municipality of Mainit, Province of Surigao, Philippines.

Mendez Family pleas to Philippine President RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE seeking EXECUTIVE ORDER Declaring Tubod Founding Hero AGUSTIN “USTING” GANOT MENDEZ that 28^th day of August every year Non-Working Holiday of the Municipality of Tubod, Surigao Del Norte, Northeastern Mindanao, Philippines in observance of his birthday.

It is long vision of the family that Mendez role in Tubod making be given significance. Even a simple greeting and salutation for Mendez delights greater impact. The respect must be restored and have emphasis reminiscing history. Many years passed, Mendez left behind and unseen in Tubod history map. Today, our richness Tubod history is rebirth. This is the time.

In track of Mendez Families quest, all members continue praying for positive answer from the President favoring this humble entreaty. The retrospect of history in this town gives way how Mendez works hard for founding the town. A worth dignified drudgery of this man attained. It cannot be denied this is how history of Tubod shaped like.

Subsequently, the clan positively hoping that God answered prayer for this unified purpose. What they looked into give what is due for the family and not. Optimistically, the President signed the EO for Great Mendez declaration.

Henceforward, if President DUTERTE issued the EO number of days count to take effect. That’s the time, we say that Mendez given due importance recognizing heroism fought by old Mendez. Hooray to the clan and all members in common spectrum.

A Wreath-laying Ceremony practice yearly by LGU of TUBOD on its Charter Day falls October 4 every year given tribute to Tubod Founding Hero AGUSTIN GANOT MENDEZ. The simple offering of flowers to Founding Hero marks greatness. And of course, this is one way of remembering Famous and Tuboranon Icon of our times. The mere wreath activity extended to founding monument signifies importance. It is an act of PATRIOTISM in LGU of TUBOD for MENDEZ heroic contribution establishing TUBOD town in general spectrum. That for without this man, there can be nowhere. So, the simple acknowledgment of MENDEZ heroism is a sign of RESPECT and VALUE of our dear Tuboranon Local Heroes. Soar high...TUBOD..!
