Mendez Family pleas to Philippine President RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE seeking EXECUTIVE ORDER Declaring Tubod Founding Hero AGUSTIN “USTING” GANOT MENDEZ that 28^th day of August every year Non-Working Holiday of the Municipality of Tubod, Surigao Del Norte, Northeastern Mindanao, Philippines in observance of his birthday.

It is long vision of the family that Mendez role in Tubod making be given significance. Even a simple greeting and salutation for Mendez delights greater impact. The respect must be restored and have emphasis reminiscing history. Many years passed, Mendez left behind and unseen in Tubod history map. Today, our richness Tubod history is rebirth. This is the time.

In track of Mendez Families quest, all members continue praying for positive answer from the President favoring this humble entreaty. The retrospect of history in this town gives way how Mendez works hard for founding the town. A worth dignified drudgery of this man attained. It cannot be denied this is how history of Tubod shaped like.

Subsequently, the clan positively hoping that God answered prayer for this unified purpose. What they looked into give what is due for the family and not. Optimistically, the President signed the EO for Great Mendez declaration.

Henceforward, if President DUTERTE issued the EO number of days count to take effect. That’s the time, we say that Mendez given due importance recognizing heroism fought by old Mendez. Hooray to the clan and all members in common spectrum.

The supporting document is now in Malacanang Palace, Manila for the approval of the President. 

It is long vision of Mendez Family realizing importance of Mendez role in the making of Tubod town. For even only simple greeting and salutation delights greater impact for the Tuboranon people and the family itself. Many years passed, the dream of the family left behind and not on map honoring significance of foundation and beginning of its existence. That for today, gradually elevating Mendez appeals to higher authorities for declaration of such purpose.

Let there be hope and successes along the way for Mendez declaration when President DUTERTE signed and issued Presidential Executive Order. A hope of Mendez Family is only the President Signature full recognition and honor of Tubod Local Founding Hero. 

At this time, the family is in positive tone that someday grants and answered prayers. It is so good that God will make a way for Mendez.

A Wreath-laying Ceremony practice yearly by LGU of TUBOD on its Charter Day falls October 4 every year given tribute to Tubod Founding Hero AGUSTIN GANOT MENDEZ. The simple offering of flowers to Founding Hero marks greatness. And of course, this is one way of remembering Famous and Tuboranon Icon of our times. The mere wreath activity extended to founding monument signifies importance. It is an act of PATRIOTISM in LGU of TUBOD for MENDEZ heroic contribution establishing TUBOD town in general spectrum. That for without this man, there can be nowhere. So, the simple acknowledgment of MENDEZ heroism is a sign of RESPECT and VALUE of our dear Tuboranon Local Heroes. Soar high...TUBOD..!

A few days from now about 13 days to go we've celebrating "ADLAW SA TUBOD" remembering importance of our town's foundation and histories. There can be no present without the past so better looked back the past and see present by honoring early leaders and heroes of our dear beloved town. This is how we makes Tubod wonderful, lively and beautiful to live in. Proud to be Tuboranon..!

Great Tubod Founding Hero AGUSTIN GANOT MENDEZ of our time

The First Christian Settler, a compassionate donor, pioneer and colonizer of Tubod that spreads Christianity. He was an immigrant from Ubay, Bohol Province on 19th Century. The one who led timely in establishing Sitio Union Sanidad on 1900. Until then, he was the First Barrio Lieutenant of Barangay Tubod on 1908 in Surigao Del Norte, Northeastern Mindanao, Philippines.

After having been created into Municipality of Tubod on September 18, 1957 he was professed as Tubod Founding Hero of this Municipality for his eloquent heroic contribution donating One-Hectare Land for Municipal Building and Tubod Roman Catholic Church Lot for Settlement pushing this place into an independent town of the Province of Surigao del Norte. On religious undertaking, he donating Two (2) Partnered Patron Saints PETER and PAUL sculpted on 1900 in Ubay.

Today, he was remembered by Tuboranon as an Icon whose selfless vision is for the development of Tubod.

He is a Great Tuboranon Icon of our time.
